My name is Bill Dabovich, and I'm an independent photographer specializing in nature/wildlife, macro, and journalistic/candid photography, although, I do enjoy photographing almost any subject. I also do weddings, sports, products, and special events photography. The photos here are primarily digital, however I do have a handful of my best film shots exhibited here as well.
About me:
Right now, I'm studying Criminal Justice and Photography at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL. My ultimate goal right now is to hopefully become a police officer in the DuPage area. But since times are tough, and police officers aren't in very high demand, that's been put hold for a bit.
My home town is Wheaton, IL (where I've lived for a little over 20 years of my life. While at home I like to chill with my absolute best friend Mike, my really great friends, Rachel, Lizzy, Darlen, Julian and anyone else I've failed to mention. While at home I work at Abbington Distinctive Banquets as a server, I'm also the Senior Photographer / Senior Manager at the Picture People in Yorktown Mall in Lombard, IL.
About me as a photographer:
I've been actively taking photos since I was 15. I've taken a few basic courses in photography, the first in basic techniques of the art form and how to analyze photos, and the second was an introduction to black and white photography and developing. Aside from the courses, I've honed my skills through reading various magazines and books as well as talking with other photographers. I've entered many contests over the years and won a handful of awards. Over the summer of 2007, I had two photos published in the Wheaton Sun and the Winfield Register newspapers. I've worked with the St. Ambrose campus newspaper The Buzz as a staff photographer which can be viewed at: [link] I love talking with fellow photographers and love to have my photos critiqued with constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement; I feel that's the best way to grow as a photographer!
I am available for hire to do weddings, engagement, or other special events. Unfortunately, since I'm working at Picture People, I can not do portraits outside of the studio, due to a non-competition agreement. Other than that everything else is fair game. Please contact me to inquire further.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. If you email me please identify yourself and tell me how you know me in the subject bar. Thanks again for checking out my page. Feel free to browse around and leave a comment if you so desire. Have fun!

Granted while what you said is true, if I could afford a D2000 or above, I could claim myself even more of a semi-professional
Your shots are great in showing people's emotions which really strikes me impressed.
I'll be shooting some more models coming soon, so I plan on trying to incorporate your advice in those shots.
The mutual friend was Whitney K, but I also see we are friends with NMW.
